Experimenting Techniques

I want to take inspiration from the decorated body armour so I have sampled a few techniques and different ways in which to knot threads.




I have knitted with wool as well as experimenting what the effect would be with thicker materials such as colio.I have also knotted calico around one another to get this effect. This looks really effective and I think it could work well with different coloured thread/material. I could possibly brand my collection through this threading technique?

Visiting historical places and cities is something which inspires me when creating and designing.
I had visited york before but I had never really considered the true beauty of the narrow streets lined with original wooden beamed Tudor buildings.













York Minster was a beautiful building to see as it had strong marble brick work with delecate detailing spires.
